  • How does Wavelength Lighting work?

    • Wavelength designs and implements complete LED lighting systems for commercial spaces. We work with large offices, retail spaces, hospitals, sports venues, and schools. Our work involves selecting the right LED products for all your lighting applications, handling implementation, and servicing product where necessary. In most retrofit projects, we engage with facilities management and complete an in-depth lighting audit of the facility. We then create a proposal for the project and work with facilities staff and the decision makers at hand to come up with the best plan of action.

  • HOw Much will i save?

    • LED retrofits save around 65% in lighting utility costs by lowering energy usage. Each application has a slightly different level of savings. A great analogy is that you are upgrading the “fuel economy” of your lighting.

  • How long does the process take?

    • An audit can be done in a day if scheduled ahead of time and all areas are accessible. Lead time on equipment is usually 2 weeks. Installation can be done in a day for small projects or two weekends for the largest projects—we have a large and extremely talented and experienced crew.

  • What is Lighting as a service?

    • “Lighting as a service” is a term used to describe when clients finance their upgrade out of their utility savings—a plan that some clients prefer when an upgrade doesn’t fit their budget. For these clients, we split the cost into 36 monthly payments with a reasonable interest rate. Simply put, with no money down, operating costs will go down, including payments to Wavelength.

  • DO YOU WORK WITH NEW CONSTRUCTION OR RETROFIT EXISTING LIGHTING?

    • Both! The two are different processes, but both new buildings and existing spaces make great candidates for LED lighting. In the case of new construction, Wavelength works with the project architect, lighting designer, and general contractor to ensure top-quality lighting that achieves aesthetic goals and integrates the build-out plans and project’s timeline. When retrofitting existing lighting, we work with office managers, operations personnel, and engineers to improve the current lighting scheme with LED products that are compatible with all existing fixture hardware.

  • WILL I NEED NEW LIGHT FIXTURES FOR WAVELENGTH LEDS?

    • If what you want is the lowest cost upgrade, you’ll almost never need to replace entire fixtures. If the fixtures in question are inside the building, we almost always have attractive products compatible with both the fixture and the existing electronics. Using existing fixtures keeps cost down and avoids wasted material while improving the lighting of a space. Outdoor and high-bay industrial fixtures often do require a fixture replacement.

  • CAN I BUY LED Lamps or Bulbs FROM WAVELENGTH?

    • Yes! Compatibility with your existing system is what we’re good at. And ensuring you are getting the right product for your aesthetic and environment is also what we’re good at. We’re good at a lot—maybe the best. Get in touch and we will help you figure out what your project needs.

  • CAN i Buy LED FIXTURES FROM WAVELENGTH?

    • Yes! This is especially relevant to renovation, build-out, and new construction. New LED fixtures cost no more than florescent, halogen, or metal halide counterparts. This is the time to be looking at LED fixtures.

  • Can Wavelength help with incentives and Rebates for LEDs?

    • Yes! We are able to help with incentives anywhere in the United States. Most programs are typically between 15-70% of the installed cost.

  • IS WAVELENGTH AN ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR?

    • Wavelength is a lighting distributor, contractor, and service provider. We haven’t encountered a lighting problem that we haven’t been able to solve.

  • Can Wavelength help with controls like daylight harvesting, motion sensors, master switches, and timers?

    • Yes! If it involves lighting, we’ve got you covered. Controls are a great way to increase efficiency beyond LED upgrades and add unique features to a project. Controls, though very cool, will not create the same savings as an initial LED upgrade.
